People & Everyday Life

The city in between

Looking closer at everyday Zimbabwe: the streets we share, the work we do, and the moments that connect us.

Everyday life belongs in the story.

A country’s story is not only written at its landmarks. It is also made in ordinary encounters, creative work, family life and the places people call home.

We are developing a people-first series on contemporary Zimbabwe. Rather than inventing a profile, we will work with contributors to decide how their experiences are represented.

The accompanying image is contextual photography, not evidence of an interview or a documented event. No individual pictured is presented as an Across Zimbabwe contributor.

The story continues.

Our publication will grow through consent-based reporting and contributions from people with relevant knowledge and lived experience.
